Connecting Students and Scholars: Erasmus School of Economics Hosts Business Economics Research Open Day
The Business Economics Research Open Day at Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) took place on June 7, 2024. The event is an opportunity for scholars and PhD students to showcase their ongoing research to Tinbergen Institute’s community of research master students in Economics and Business Data Science.
The day connected students with researchers about PhD research opportunities in the areas of Finance, Accountancy and Marketing within the ESE department of Business Economics that they may not have (yet) encountered.
The program was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, kicking off with presentations by finance researchers prof. dr. Sebastian Gryglewicz, dr. Matthijs Korevaar and PhD student Eva Mulder. Followed by a talk by dr. Yijun Li and PhD student Stephanie van der Veen on accountancy, and a presentation on Marketing by Prof. dr. Stefan Stremersch dr. Andreas Bayerl and second-year Research Master student Finn Höner gave a presentation on Marketing research.
After lunch there was an avid plenary session with associate professor and Director of Doctoral Education Niels Rietveld on the Erasmian values and PhD training. The afternoon offered breakout sessions in Applied Economics, Econometrics and General Economics. The successful day was concluded with drinks.
