Foundations of Machine Learning with Applications in Python


 

Dr. Janneke van Brummelen

Janneke is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Econometrics and Data Science at the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is trained as an econometrician and holds a PhD degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research interests include Time Series Econometrics and Econometric Theory and Methodology. In addition to this summer school, Janneke teaches “Machine Learning for Econometrics and Data Science” as well as “Differential Privacy and Statistical Inference under Differential Privacy”.

 

 

Dr. Ronald de Vlaming
Ronald is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is trained as an econometrician and holds a PhD degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. 

His research focuses on the application of statistical methods, machine learning, and econometric techniques to large-scale human genetic data, to improve our understanding of the biological and environmental causes of differences between individuals. In addition to this summer school, Ronald teaches “Database Fundamentals and Applications”, “Data Structures and Algorithms”, and “Differential Privacy and Statistical Inference under Differential Privacy”.
