Graduation Ceremony Student Cohorts of 2023-2025
On November 6, 2025, Students from the 2023–2025 cohorts of the Research Master’s in Economics and Business Data Science gathered in the Auditorium of the Tinbergen Institute Amsterdam to celebrate their commencement. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and staff, graduates were recognized for their academic achievements and dedication to rigorous research training.
During the ceremony, supervisors delivered inspiring and personal speeches to their students, highlighting academic achievements, personal growth, curiosity and collaborative spirit. This was followed by the formal awarding of diplomas.
Students Alberto Antonello and Just de Groot delivered the Valedictorian Speeches, offering reflections on their own and fellow students' journey, along with words of encouragement for the future. Antonello highlighted the relaxed and positive atmosphere of his cohort, emphasizing that such an environment is not to be taken for granted and reflects the maturity of the cohort.
Teachers and students were honored with the Lecturer of the Year and Teaching Assistant of the Year awards. Awardees were selected by the students in recognition for their exceptional teaching skills.

The commencement concluded with a reception, giving graduates, families, and supervisors a moment of celebration after two years of rigorous study. We wish all our graduates the best of luck in their PhD studies and future academic careers.
