New Candidate Fellow: Ramon de Punder

Ramon de Punder is Postdoctoral Researcher Financial Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam.

New Candidate Fellow: Ramon de Punder

Ramon obtained a research master's degree at Tinbergen Institute and received his PhD from the University of Amsterdam.

His research spans Econometric Theory, Financial Econometrics, Risk Management, and Time Series Econometrics.

The paper ‘Localizing strictly proper scoring rules' by Ramon, Cees DiksRoger Laeven (University of Amsterdam) and Dick van Dijk (Erasmus University Rotterdam) appeared in the Journal of the American Statistical Association (January 2026). The paper started as a Tinbergen Institute Research Master's thesis and, to the best of our knowledge, marks the first project originating from the Research Master's program to appear in the JASA.

Ramon is also affiliated as Research Fellow of University of Amsterdam's Research Centre for Sustainable Investments and Insurance, Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance, and the Amsterdam Center of Excellence in Risk, Resilience and Regulation.
