Biography
Yuval Engel is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam, and Director of the Amsterdam Startup Lab. His research examines how technology startups grow from founding teams into employers and scalable organizations, including how they attract and evaluate people and build their workforces. A growing strand of his work studies how digital platforms and AI reshape hiring, venture sourcing, gender inequality, and access to opportunity. His work appears in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Venturing Insights.
