Biography

Jonathan Sitruk is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Amsterdam Business School. His research examines how social and cognitive processes shape entrepreneurial performance and resource acquisition, particularly in crowdfunding and other forms of early-stage financing. He is especially interested in categorization, organizational identity, and entrepreneurial narratives. His empirical work combines large-scale digital data, machine learning and natural language processing techniques, and also uses qualitative approaches.

Prior to joining the University of Amsterdam, Jonathan was a Research Fellow at LMU Munich. He obtained his PhD in Management from SKEMA Business School and Université Côte d’Azur in 2018. Earlier in his career, he taught at Universidad Santo Tomás in Bogotá and earned his BSc in Business Administration and Leadership from the College of Charleston.
