Pieter and Patrick are two pillars of our Machine Learning sequence. Back in 2019, they developed two connected machine learning courses allowing students to develop a thorough technical understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, learn how to implement them in R, and how to write a report about an application of these techniques.

Excellent teaching

The small class size allows for a high-interactive setting, where students have the unique opportunity to get thorough feedback on their work and ample opportunities to discuss topics with the teachers.

Pieter and Patrick integrate their own research into their lectures and showcase the latest advancements in the field for students who want to go beyond the standard curriculum. This allows every student to be challenged at their own level, with everyone benefitting from a highly stimulating research environment

Annualy, the teacher and teaching assistant of the year are chosen by first-year students of the research master's program in Business Data Science. Patrick was elected teacher of the year 2023.
