Biography

Jeroen Engelberts works as Research Software Engineer for the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) at Erasmus University Rotterdam since 2018. Formally educated as a chemist, Jeroen has a master degree in Chemometrics and a PhD degree in Quantum Chemistry both from Utrecht University. After his research he became consultant High-Performance Computing (HPC) at SURFsara, the national compute center in Amsterdam, while finalizing the last bits and pieces of his PhD thesis. In this role he helped many PhD students and other researchers from various scientific disciplines with their computational challenges on the HPC infrastructure of SURF, not only with programming but also by teaching them how to work with HPC equipment. In 2018 he returned to his birth city Rotterdam, at cycling distance from his home, to help out researchers at RSM directly.
