The special section covers a very broad list of topics and applications, including clinical trials, coupon personalization, personalized pricing, website optimization at Amazon, algorithm fairness, diffusion theory, and a lot more. Many papers in this issue are using bandits (a subset of Reinforcement Learning) and online learning.

Gui Liberali, Professor of Digital Marketing at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University Rotterdam is one of the co-editors of the special section. Gui will teach a summer course in Reinforcement Learning as part of the Business Data Science summer school 2022. Applications open. This course will also be offered as an elective field course in 2022-2023 and open for external participants.

It is now live as the current issue here: pubsonline.informs.org/doi/full/10.1287/mnsc.2021.4296.
